Keason Twitty, 25, was one of five men convicted in the late night invasion of a Montgomery County Line Road residence. Sheriff’s deputies said both the homeowner and the intruders fired shots. Twitty, who was found outside the residence after the others fled, was the only one injured.
“I apologize for what I did … I made a poor decision,” Twitty told Judge Jeannine Pratt.
Paul Watkins, an assistant county prosecutor, said he was honest with investigators during the investigation and was well aware, due to his medical condition, of the consequences of engaging in the criminal activity.
Pratt said Twitty’s injuries were what happened when people invade others property with guns.

“You don’t know how lucky you are to have secured this joint sentencing recommendations,” she said of the seven-year term recommended in his plea deal. “Don’t expect the court to give you the benefit of the doubt in the future.”
Twitty earlier pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary with a gun specification, conspiracy and felonious assault.
Co-defendant Corey Dixon, 19, of Englewood was sentenced to seven years in prison during his sentencing earlier in the day. He pleaded to the same charges as Twitty.
Pratt told Dixon he would have faced more prison time without the seven-year recommendation. She pointed to his juvenile record that dated to 2011. These were his first adult convictions.
"You need to do a 180 and get your life together," Pratt said. Dixon was given credit for 284 days served in jail. Twitty did not received any jail credit because he was hospitalized and then released on his recognizance following the incident.
Others who have pleaded in the case will be sentenced in August.
They are Eric Santos, 22, of Trotwood; Kristian Martinez, 23, of Phillipsburg; and James Benton, 24, address at large.
