3 indicted on prostitution charges after raid at Fairfield Twp. spa

A Dayton woman accused of permitting prostitution at a Fairfield Twp. massage spa has been indicted by a grand jury, along with two others accused in the operation.

Yunmei Wallis, 42, of Livingston Avenue in Dayton, is now facing two felony charges of promoting prostitution, a fourth-degree felony. Wallis was the manager of Asian Spa, 3991 Hamilton-Middletown Road, when it was raided Oct. 30 by Butler County Sheriff’s Office investigators.

Also indicted Wednesday by a Butler County grand jury are: Jiuying Matagolai, 46, of Del City, Oklahoma, on one count of promoting prostitution; and Xiaoyan Guo, 47, of Cincinnati, for two counts of promoting prostitution, according to court records. The indictment stems from alleged crimes committed Oct. 7-16.

Specifications in the indictment indicate $4,100 found at Wallis’ residence and $6,298 at the business that is allegedly connected to illegal activity and subject to forfeiture if she is found guilty.

Forfeiture specifications in the indictment against Matagolai, who investigators believe was the owner, include $23,552.36 and a 2014 Toyota Highlander.

Warrants for all three women were also issued Wednesday.

Following more than a year of investigation that included surveillance and an undercover operation, investigators served search warrants at the spa and Wallis’ residence.

Sheriff’s officials said the business has been open for several months and reports of possible illegal sexual acts being performed in the parlor began almost immediately. Fairfield Twp. police and the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Unit worked together on the case.

“We executed search warrants in 2013 at this same address for prostitution, and arrests were made then as well,” said Sgt. Mike Hackney of the sheriff’s office.

While he could not say every massage was an erotic one, he said the business did not operate like typical ones in the area that offer beauty services and therapeutic massages.

“Those spas are largely frequented by women,” Hackney said. “We never saw one woman enter this place during surveillance.”

Hackney said most of the male customers were from outside the area, and the spa was advertised on a website with wording that was sexual in nature.

Two customers were at the business when detectives arrived about 1:30 p.m. Oct. 30.

Yunmei has been free on $5,000 bond since Oct. 31.
