A man convicted last fall of stealing several guns from an ex-Moraine police officer’s home was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in prison.

In late July Randy L. Sellars Jr., 30, stole a rifle, two pistols and several thousand rounds of ammunition from the home of retired Moraine Deputy Police Chief Tracy Harpster, police said at the time.

Sellars was then indicted in September of two counts of burglary, three counts of grand theft and three counts of weapons under disability.

Sellars’ arrest followed “quite a little spree” that drew the interest of authorities in German Twp. and Centerville as well, Moraine Police Sgt. Jon Spencer said at the time.
