Nude photo case ends in 8-month prison term

A Piqua man who pleaded guilty to felony illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material was sentenced Monday to eight months in prison.

Joshua Crumpler, 24, was accused in December of possessing a nude photo of a teenage girl he knew. He pleaded guilty April 6 in Miami County Common Pleas Court.

“I was in the wrong,” Crumpler told Judge Christopher Gee before sentencing.

Janna Parker, an assistant county prosecutor, said Crumpler was on community control on an unrelated charge of trespassing in a habitation at the time of this most recent offense and had convictions for assault and disorderly conduct.

Crumpler was sentenced to eight months in prison, to be served concurrent to a nine-month sentence imposed in January in the trespassing case.

Crumpler also has been classified a Tier I sex offender by the court, which requires him to register his address with the sheriff in the county where he lives for 15 years when he’s released from prison.
