Call for officer assistance came after person shot into air in Harrison Twp.

Police responded to the area of Shoup Mill Road and Sue Ann Boulevard near North Main Street in Harrison Township after a person shot several rounds into the air, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

A call for officer assistance was issued and canceled shortly afterward, according to dispatch records.

The sheriff’s office said in a release that police received a report at 11:23 p.m. that shots were fired in that area, where the passenger in a car shot several rounds into the air as the car drove along Shoup Mil Road.

Deputies stopped the car and detained the occupants, ultimately arresting one man, the release said.

There were no injuries, and the incident remains under investigation, the sheriff’s office said.
