Life-threatening injuries reported in double stabbing in Dayton

One person suffered life-threatening injuries in a double stabbing Thursday morning in Dayton, according to 911 dispatch records.

A 16-year-old boy and man in his 50s were both injured during in the incident around 8:40 a.m. in the 300 block of North Smithville Road.

It is not clear which person suffered life-threatening injuries.

A construction worker at the corner of Springfield Street and North Smithville Road called 911 after a woman dropped off a wounded man.

“He’s all bleeding and cut up,” the caller said. “The cut on his leg is pretty deep. It looks like a stab wound.”

Medics and police responded and took the man to Miami Valley Hospital.

Around that time, a 16-year-old boy arrived at Dayton Children’s Hospital with stab wounds.

Dispatch records indicated the stabbings were connected to a burglary reported at a Springfield Street apartment building.
