A man appears to have jumped to his death from the roof of a downtown Dayton parking garage Sunday, police said.
Police said they found fresh hand prints on the 10th floor of the Reibold Building garage on West Fifth Street, between South Main and South Ludlow streets.
A passing motorist reported the man’s body in the street. Officers arrived at 5:18 a.m. to the garage and found the unidentified man unresponsive. None of the man’s personal belongings were found at the garage, police said.
A Montgomery County coroner’s investigator “responded and concurred this was a suicide,” according to a police report.

A University of Dayton graduate engineering student jumped to his death from the ninth story of the garage in December 2013, according to newspaper archives.
The garage opened in 2002 with 11 stories and 807 spaces. The building attached to the garage houses county offices.
Anyone in need of help or who knows someone in need is urged to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, available 24/7, at 800-273-8255.
