As many as six rounds were fired, Coleman said, but only one hit the victim in his arm. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital suffering from a non-life threatening injury Coleman described as a “through and through” wound.
“It is undetermined whether the two groups knew each other,” the sergeant said. “It’s unknown whether the argument was over drugs or gang related or something else.” The victim told police he’s not sure who shot him, Coleman said, but police don’t necessarily believe that.
Witnesses told investigators the shooter was dressed in all black clothing that included a hoodie. Coleman said the weapon probably was an automatic based on the number of shell casings left on the ground.
The shooting had nothing to do with the market, he said.

Police are looking for a gunman who shot and wounded another person outside Nabali’s Friendly IGA, 2288 N. Gettysburg Ave.
Dayton police and a medic unit were dispatched just after 6:30 p.m. on a report of a shooting.
The victim’s condition is not known.
A person who answered the phone at the business said the shooting took place in the parking lot.
We’re told the suspect is described as being armed with a black handgun. He was wearing a bandanna that covered the bottom of his face.
We’re also told he was wearing a white top, navy blue sweatpants and black-and-white gym shoes.
He was last seen running on Prescott Avenue.
A K-9 unit was brought to the scene.
