Donald Eugene Williams, 21, 315 S. Burnett Road, was indicted on three felony counts of robbery in connection with the incident. He remains in Clark County Jail on a $76,000 bond.
The witness, who asked that her name not be made public, used her smartphone to give a 9-1-1 dispatcher the “frame by frame” description of what happened July 20 in the fast food restaurant on East Main Street.
She even snapped the “money shot” of Springfield Police Division officers arresting the man, who was armed with what turned out to be a BB gun.
“Oh, it could have been very bad,” she said, noting that Williams had bumped into her husband earlier that same evening at a gas station, also on East Main Street. Police said Williams asked for money there.
