West Chester Twp. spokeswoman Barb Wilson said Lehman apparently first caused a commotion at the Wings and Rings restaurant off of Ohio 747 while filling out a job application. Then he moved on to the daycare.
“After leaving the Wings and Rings, he was able to make entry into the daycare center lobby where he proceeded to yell, break equipment and furnishings,” she said. “The owner of the Wings and Rings and his son followed the individual into the daycare and were able to gain some control of the individual until police arrived.”
The arresting officer’s body camera shows him cuffing Lehman and trying to get him to stop swearing.
“Shhh, there’s kids in here,” the officer says. “I don’t know what your problem is but be quiet.”
Wilson said the children were moved to the back of the building in a secure room during the incident.
Lehman is currently in the Butler County Jail facing fifth degree felony vandalism and burglary charges and a misdemeanor assault charge. His bond was set at $85,000.
