A new law cuts down how many doses of opioids a doctor can prescribe. But Ward said this means her husband can't get a prescription longer than 14 days.
"He is in so much pain. People that abuse it are hurting the other people that really need it. It's really said," Ward said.
A spokeswoman for Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Services said the new law is aimed at helping fight the drug epidemic.
