Crispy Kreme Plant Fined For Hiring Illegal Immigrants

The Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. is fined $40,000 for employing illegal immigrants at a Butler County factory.

Immigration officials said the factory in Monroe employed at least 25 illegal workers.

The company agreed to the fine as part of a settlement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

No criminal charges were filed against the company or the illegal immigrants, but those workers have either been deported or are in deportation proceedings.
