Four adults and one child were able to get out safely from the two-family dwelling and are receiving assistance from the Northern Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Crews were able to quickly get the fire under control, and there were no injuries.
The fire started in the attic. It is not suspicious, but the cause remains under investigation, according to the Troy Fire Department. Damages were estimated at $20,000 to the structure and $10,000 to contents, fire officials said.
