Dayton Businessman Arrested After 10 Years On The Run

The U.S. Marshals announced Thursday that Phillipe Paul, who was wanted by authorities in New Jersey since 2000 for being a part of a large scale cocaine ring, was captured in Miamisburg.

Paul, who was living in Miamisburg under the assumed name Anthony Jones, got married, had children, and even opened the successful business “Jam Sports” in Dayton while evading law enforcement.

Paul’s ability to hide from law enforcement began to come to an end on Dec. 1 when he was arrested by Miami Township police for driving under the influence. Paul gave police false information and was released on his own recognizance.

According to police, officers learned of his true identity through matching fingerprints with those obtained from New Jersey.

The Marshals Service led Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), who was coordinating with New Jersey’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force moved in for the arrest.

Paul was taken into custody at his Miamisburg home without incident.
