We're working to replace pipes due to the recent water main break. Keowee Street will remain open through the weekend, however, starting Monday, Aug, 10 it will be closed until further notice while we make the needed repairs.

The water main broke on Monday afternoon at Keowee and Ottowa streets, flooding the roads and causing water outages and low water pressure downtown as well as in the South Park, Belmont and Grafton Hill neighborhoods and in various eastern parts of the city.
Without water service, restaurants and other businesses were forced to close their doors until water could be restored, and then residents in the area were put on a boil order.
The cause of the water main failure is still being investigated, but led to Dayton Water Director Mike Powell promising to focus on adding redundancies to its Ottowa water treatment plant in case there is another water emergency.
