Dayton VA unveiling renovated ‘Kennedy Way’ today

The Dayton VA is hosting a Community Living Center ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon today.

The ceremony — celebrating the renovation of “Kennedy Way” — will be held in the Community Living Center, building 320, at the Dayton VA Medical Center.

Building 320 is located south of the Grotto on the east side of the VA campus, near the Gettysburg entrance.

Kennedy Way will house veterans with a wide array of memory challenges, such as Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia.

In addition to aesthetics, such as two “‘50’s Diner” themed public spaces, the renovation features multiple upgrades.

Caregiver sinks have been added to each veteran’s bedroom for improved infection control, the exterior walls received additional insulation for better energy efficiency, and the entire heating and cooling system was replaced to ensure optimal climate and comfort.

Today’s event is open to the public.
