Deputies: Prescription Pain Medication Found At Local H.S.

Deputies in Clark County are investigating after they said several students were taken to a local hospital after using a powerful prescription pain medication.

The incident happened at Shawnee High School on Wednesday. Deputies said someone at the school noticed some students acting strange after drinking from a water bottle and called authorities.

The school was locked down for a brief time while a police dog searched the building.

Deputies said a 15-year-old girl was found with morphine tablets and Vicidon. Investigators said the teen will be charged with several drug charges and theft.

According to deputies, three students were taken an area hospital as a precaution.
