Dog Gets Ride From Fairborn To Arcanum, Now Looking For Owner

A truck and trailer, hauling new cars and a stowaway dog, pulled into an auto dealership in the Darke County village of Arcanum Thursday morning.

Described as "shivering," the dog looked cold, Todd Troutwine said, but otherwise was fine following the 36-mile ride that took about 45 minutes from Fairborn to Arcanum.

The trucker theorizes the dog must have jumped on the trailer and hid under a car for protection from the Thursday morning rains, while the rig was parked at a motel in Fairborn, where the driver spent the night.

Rhonda Marshal of Arcanum is caring for the dog until its owner can be located.
