Donation made for proposed field, park

The Miracle League of the Miami Valley received its first large donation Friday, Nov. 20, for a proposed baseball field and playground for those with developmental disabilities.

Plans are for the facility’s inclusion in the expansion of Troy’s Paul G. Duke Park. A $30,000 donation was presented by the Troy Kiwanis Club during a brief program at the park.

Club President Jennifer Honeyman said “she fell in love” with the Miracle League concept when deciding on a club service project. “Thank you for letting us be a part of this awesome project,” she said.

The park expansion remains under design. NANCY BOWMAN, CONTRIBUTING WRITER
