Franklin will open its weekly farmers market on Saturday at the Franklin City Building parking lot starting at 9 a.m. Saturday.

This is the seventh season of the Downtown Franklin Farmers Market, which is located at the Franklin City Building parking lot, 1 Benjamin Franklin Way, and will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through Sept. 12. The weekly event is co-sponsored by the city of Franklin and the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce.

Market organizers said the mix of new and returning vendors will offer an array of products including fresh fruit and vegetables; plants and herbs; cut flowers; honey and bee-related products; baked goods; fresh eggs; grass-fed beef and lamb; pastured chickens; jams and jellies; gourmet marshmallows; nut brittles; pet treats; and more.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture and the Warren County Health Department have made farmers market safety recommendations for 2020.

Shoppers are asked to wear masks, to refrain from bringing reusable shopping bags and to maintain physical distance between themselves and other shopping groups. Additionally, shoppers who are in a vulnerable age group or population are asked to come between 9 -10 a.m.; market organizers request that families with children consider shopping after 10 a.m. if possible.
