Driving School Couple Killed In Auto Accident

A Troy couple spent years teaching teens how to drive were killed in a traffic accident Thursday night by a 17-year-old who deputies said ran a stop sign, authorities said.

The accident happened at the intersection of Troy-Sidney and Rusk roads near Troy and claimed the lives of Delbert Breese Jr., 70, and his 70-year-old wife, Nancy.

Authorities said the Breeses owned and operated Breese Driving School in Troy for a lot of years.

Witnesses told deputies that the driver of a pickup truck ran a stop sign and struck the Breeses' car. The driver, Abigail Wright, 17, of near New Carlisle, was injured and taken to Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment.

The deaths of the Breeses brings the number of people killed on Miami County roadways in past five days to four.
