Fairborn hires new economic development director

The city of Fairborn has hired Rob Anderson as their new economic development director.

Anderson, the former City Manager of Vandalia, comes to Fairborn with 20-plus years of experience working in the public sector, most notably in the area of planning and development. Most recently, Anderson worked as the Director of Development for the city of Clayton.

Anderson is a Greene County native. He also is an adjunct faculty member at Wright State University’s College of Urban Affairs, where he teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses.

Anderson replaces Chris Wimsatt, who took a job in Florida.

Anderson resigned as Vandalia’s city manager on Nov. 8, 2013. His resignation came two months after he entered a guilty plea in Vandalia Municipal Court after being charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence.

The charge was the result of an Aug. 16, 2013, traffic stop conducted by an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper. Anderson was ordered to enter into the court's diversion program.
