Fairfield Twp. police Capt. Doug Lanier said his department “will follow any lead” they get on the case of a 37-year-old resident last seen two weeks ago in Warren County.

Rigoberto Jose Garcia, a U.S. citizen of Guatemalan decent, was last seen on Jan. 12 in Maineville, though his white 2011 Toyota Tacoma truck was recovered Jan. 19 in the city of Fairfield.

INITIAL REPORT: Police put out alert for missing Fairfield Twp. man

“It’s concerning when you have an adult that comes up missing,” he said. “We’re certainly looking into all aspects, and we’re following up with anybody that we can.”

That includes friends, family and anyone else that may know Garcia, he said.

Until they learn more, Lanier said they can’t release any additional details. More details could be released later this week or next week, he said.

What is known about Garcia is he’s 5 feet, 1 inch and weighs 135 pounds. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, a gray sweater, a black baseball cap with an unknown insignia and dark brown boots. He typically wears a wooden cross necklace.

Anyone with information should contact Fairfield Twp. police Detective Jamie Mays at 513-785-4178, but people can also call Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040. Lanier said Crime Stoppers has advocated that they be a resource people can use to contact on investigations for missing persons as people may feel more comfortable contacting them over the police.
