Organizers have an action-packed three days planned for the 61st annual Fenwick Festival.

The festival will be held June 21-23 at Bishop Fenwick High School. Proceeds support the school’s general operating budget.

“It’s our largest fundraiser event,” said Robin Blank, marketing coordinator.

Blank said the 60th anniversary festival last year “set a new gold standard for us.”

The school will again rent a large mobile stage from the City of Middletown to offer an expanded list of live music. The band Farewell Fisher will again perform on Friday, with the addition of Off the Hook on Saturday and Stagger Lee on Sunday.

Blank said a special recognition will be made at 4:30 p.m. Sunday for the boy’s volleyball team — who became first-time state champions this year.

“They never had a winning season before this,” Blank said. “The community hasn’t had a chance yet to congratulate them.”

Other activities include:

  • Hot air balloon launch at 7 p.m. Friday
  • Hot air balloon glow at dusk Saturday
  • Texas Hold 'em tournament beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday
  • Italian sausage booth at 6 p.m. Friday
  • Pulled pork dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday in cafeteria

Spaghetti dinner by the Sons of Italy from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday in cafeteria

“We’ve got jumbo poker and black jack … the men love those, and the women love the basket booths,” Blank said.

Blank said Sunday is always a large turnout of families, and the festival is selling all-day wristbands for $15 for children to access unlimited rides. Raffles items include a new Honda Accord, $5,000 cash, Dayton Dragons tickets and Kentucky Speedway tickets.
