Fire Damaged Restaurant In Downtown Piqua

Piqua firefighters responded quickly to a fire in a three-story building that houses the Lighthouse Cafe at Main and Water streets Monday evening.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but it took longer to overhaul and inspect the entire building for fire and smoke. The Lighthouse Cafe is located on the ground floor of the building.

Investigators said the fire appears to be electricial in nature. They said the fire started in a wall in the kitchen.

Damage to the structure is estimated at $40,000.

There were no injuries.
