Workers casting iron at the foundry said a wooden mold broke and caught fire and then sent flames spreading to other molds.
Firefighters from Miamisburg and West Carrollton were dispatched, as well as crews from DP&L in order to cut power to the foundry.
Officials said by the time firefighters arrived at the scene, foundry workers had the fire mostly out with the use of extinguishers.
At this time, there is no word on how much damage was done. The foundry is expected to reopen on Tuesday morning.
