It was determined the house in the 100 block was located within the city limits of Trotwood, so additional units were dispatched to the vacant structure, Trotwood Battalion Chief Brandon Barnett said.
The second floor of the house collapsed during the fire, Barnett said.
No one was injured during the fire and an official cause of the flames is under investigation.
Dayton and Trotwood fire departments assisted in the fire fight.
