A Centerville bakery will celebrate its first decade in business with free cupcakes all this week May 1, 2018.

"I have referred to our bakery as the Wrigley Field of baking," Matt Boosalis, founder and owner of Boosalis Baking and Cafe, at 175 E. Alex-Bell Road in the Cross Pointe Shopping Center, told this news outlet. "We are dedicated to old-fashioned methods using real butter, cream and eggs. We want to carry this vanishing tradition into the future for for our dedicated regular customers and also the new ones to come."

Ten years “is a modest time for many Dayton businesses, but nevertheless, I have seen a lot of openings and closing in that period. We opened at the worst time economically. That and my own learning curve made it very much a challenge. Yet we arrive at our 10th on firm footing, with new customers arriving every day.”

“Ours has more butter than sugar,” Boosalis said.

“We will do as we normally do: start work early, keep our heads down and focus on making great-tasting pastries, breads and sandwiches. That is the best way we can thank the Miami Valley for enabling our success.”
