“We’re looking for local job-seekers to fill about 90 positions in what will be our first Fresh Thyme location in Dayton,” Chris Sherrell, president and CEO of Fresh Thyme, said in a release Wednesday.
Fresh Thyme is expected to open the 28,000-square-foot Sugarcreek Twp. store by the end of March, a Fresh Thyme spokesman said in a phone interview Wednesday. The new store will be located at 4317 Feedwire Road, across the street from the Cornerstone of Centerville mixed-use development.
Fresh Thyme also is planning a Beavercreek location, at 2850 Centre Drive near the Mall at Fairfield Commons, that is projected to open in late spring, probably around Memorial Day, the company’s spokesman said.
Candidates attending the job fair are encouraged to apply at freshthyme.com before attending the event.
The two Dayton-area store openings are part of a broader push that will see the Phoenix-based specialty grocer open 60 new stores and create 5,000 jobs in the Midwest over the next five years, the company said. Two Fresh Thyme markets opened in 2014 in the Cincinnati area.
Fresh Thyme is entering an organic- and health-foods market in Montgomery County’s south suburbs that already includes Earth Fare in Centerville and Health Foods Unlimited in Miami Twp., and which will soon include Whole Foods in Washington Twp., still under construction. And several grocers, including Dorothy Lane Market, Meijer, Trader Joe’s and Kroger, have increased their organic-food and produce options.
