Georgia man wanted for murder arrested in Middletown

Lavante Gray, 24, was arrested during the early morning hours at a residence in the area of Carmody Boulevard and North Verity Parkway.

He is wanted on an outstanding murder warrant from Dekalb County, Ga.

On Sept. 1, 2017, Gray allegedly shot and killed a man in Stone Mountain, Ga., according to the Marshals office.

U.S. Marshals in Georgia learned that Gray was in the Middletown area and contacted the U.S. Marshals in Cincinnati.

Gray is currently in custody at the Butler County Jail and will soon be extradited back to the Atlanta, Ga., area.

Gray was arrested by the Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and Butler County Fugitive Warrant Division.

Cincinnati’s SOFAST is a U.S. Marshals Service-led task force consisting of local, state, and federal authorities including the Adult Parole Authority, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Butler County Probation Office, Colerain Twp. Police Department, Department of Homeland Security/Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Harrison Police Department.
