Five people, including the girl, were injured in the crash but only the girl’s injuries were serious. She was taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital. The other four people, who included other children, went to Springfield Medical Center with minor injuries, the sergeant said.
The girl’s mother was driving a van on Selma Road when she turned into the path of another car while she was attempting to turn the van left onto East Southern Avenue, Williams said.
No citations have been issued, and it’s not clear whether the girl was not buckled in properly. The crash remains under investigation.
