Prosecutors hope the indictment against Tucker will lead to his conviction and then his death sentence. They said what he did was senselss.
Antoinette Hollingsworth, 22, should be graduating from Sinclair Community College this Spring, but her life was cut short.
Prosecutors said Hollingsworth was walking home after shopping at a Family Dollar store when she was robbed in a Dayton alley.
Prosecutors said Tucker robbed Hollingsworth and then fatally shot her in the head. Montgomery County Prosecutor Matt Heck said Tucker planned the crime and committed it with the help of 16-year-old Shawn Rutledge.
Authorities said Tucker has a criminal history. Heck said Tucker was convicted of rape and sentenced to prison in 2000. He was released after five years in June 2005.
Officials said Rutledge is being tried as an adult. He has not been indicted, but he could face life in prison, if convicted.
Tucker is expected to be arraigned next week.
