Ground Broken For New Springfield Arts Center

Dozens of people in Springfield attended the ground breaking ceremony for a new creative arts and convention center.

The Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center is being built on the campus of Clark State University.

The $5 million complex will also mean new opportunities for downtown businesses.

Springfield Mayor Warren Copeland said, “We have exciting things coming and this is the piece of the puzzle. It’s great to have other things happening.”

The grand opening of the arts complex will coincide with the completion of Springfield’s new hospital in 2012.
