The online retailer of home products, Hayneedle, said Wednesday it has expanded its Monroe distribution center.

It has added about 100,000-square-feet for a total approximately 600,000-square-feet of storage and warehouse space. The Omaha, Neb.-based company said it also has an option to expand to an additional 120,000- square-feet in coming years.

Hayneedle opened in Monroe in 2010 on Logistics Way, which is off Salzman Road.

This holiday season, Hayneedle’s Distribution Center in Monroe will employ as many as 150-full-time and seasonal workers, the company said.

“Expanding our Monroe facility after only two years demonstrates our phenomenal growth, ongoing commitment to the Monroe area, and confidence in the facility’s operations team,” said Tom Clement, vice president of supply chain and logistics for Hayneedle, in a press release.

The Butler County facility is Hayneedle’s primary customer distribution and fulfillment center.
