Patients Moved To New Reid Hospital In Richmond

Officials with Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind., have spent the last few days moving equipment and patients into their new hospital.

On Wednesday, the staff had to move nearly 100 patients from the old hospital to the new one, which is located about two minutes down the road from the old.

The movement of patients is one that the staff said they have tested and planned for quite some time.

The first steps of the moving process started in August when departments and equipment were moved into the new inpatient towers. Then, beginning at 4 a.m. Wednesday, patients were moved from the old hospital on Chester Boulevard to the new one.

Staff moved two patients at a time from a particular unit until all units were empty.

Staff members who were involved in the move felt that everything went smoothly.
