Heineken beer spills onto I-70 in semi crash

A truck hauling Heineken beer overturned in a crash on Interstate 70 this morning, spilling the product onto the roadway.

Witnesses said the area smelled strongly of the alcoholic beverage and glass was shattered throughout the accident scene.

State troopers said the semi-tractor trailer was heading westbound when it blew a tire. It went off the road and across the grass in the middle of the highway, then rolled over into the eastbound lanes.

The semi struck a gold Honda Odyssey minivan. Both drivers were taken to Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind. with minor injuries.

Traffic was blocked near a rest area and rerouted at U.S. 40 in Richmond. As of 9:25 a.m., both lanes had reopened.
