"Lined up perfect on the park. Lined up perfect on the ball diamonds," said balloon operator Laurie Givin of Gentle Breeze, a hot air balloon company. "As soon as we cleared that tree line the wind decided to give a little shift to the right."
Givin said the balloon landed fine and didn't get caught on the light pole until after the landing.
"We actually thought we were going to hit the pole and bounce, but we actually just kind of went into the fence and stopped," said Steve Worley, a passenger in the balloon.
No one was hurt in the incident. Worley said his son enjoyed the birthday ride, despite the bumpy landing.
"The ride itself, it's a wonderful ride in a balloon ride. It's beautiful up there," Worley said.
