Hot air balloon gets stuck on light pole in Yellow Springs

YELLOW SPRINGS - A hot air balloon on a birthday flight got stuck on a stadium light approximately 70 feet high in Gaunt Park on South College Street when the wind shifted Saturday morning.

The balloon, owned by Gentle Breeze Hot Air Balloon Company, Ltd., had been hired for a birthday flight and was making a routine landing when a sudden gust of wind blew the balloon into the light.

Members of the Cedarville township fire department were called in to use their ladder truck to free the balloon.

No one was injured.
