The WHIO news app is the best way to get local breaking news, weather and traffic on the go from the News Center 7 team.

Even better, alerts from the app are now completely customizable. This means it’s easy to sign up for the news you care about most.

How to customize your WHIO news app alerts: 

  1. Open the app
  2. Click the top-left menu icon
  3. Click on Settings
  4. Select "Customize Notifications"
  5. Enter your preferences!

What types of notifications can I sign up for? 

  • For notifications on your morning and evening commute, as well as major highway slowdowns and shutdowns, sign up for traffic alerts.
  • For updates on snow and ice, school closings, thunderstorms, and more, sign up for weather alerts.
  • You can also customize news alerts, sports alerts, political alerts, Life and Entertainment, and more.
  • We've recently added WHIO Television and WHIO Radio alerts as well, for those who would like to be notified about our on-air programming.

You can update your notification preferences at any time.
