Humana and Atrium

Many folks in the Middletown area are covered by the Humana health insurance. As of now, Atrium Medical Center is not a network provider for the Humana insurance group or program. Could someone from Atrium advise us if they are in negotiations with Humana and if they will be a provider for Humana in 2010?

Editor's note: Premier Health Partners, which includes Atrium Medical Center, does not have a current contract with Humana, according to Atrium spokeswoman Wendy Parks. "We remain open to resolving this issue," she said. By Ohio law, even without a contract in place, insurance companies are required to pay for emergency visits and indicated hospitalization that results from that visit, she noted.
