THE FIRST EVER - CO-VENTION!
The 2 international Pontiac clubs are coming together for the very first time to do a combined, as we call it a "Co-vention"on July 7-11 at the Nutter Center. There are expected to be between 1,200 to 1,500 classic Pontiacs and over 3,000 attendees to be there. The GTO Assn.of America a.k.a.(GTOAA) for people with Pontiac GTO's from 1964 to 1972 and 2004-2006 and The Pontiac-Oakland Club International a.k.a.(POCI) which represents all Pontiacs from 1909 to the newest Pontiacs. The Ohio Valley GTO Assn. of Southwestern Ohio with GTOAA and The Grand Prix Chapter of POCI, a national chapter are the co-hosts of this event. There are already over 600 pre-registered attendees, four of which are coming from as far away as Australia and New Zealand. The Greene County Convention & Visitors Bureau estimates that over 2 million dollars will be spent in the area during this 5 day event. Over 8,000 GTOAA & POCI members live within a 500 mile radius of Dayton! There will be a full schedule of on-site and off-site attractions planned to entertain the entire family as we want the family to plan a vacation around this event. All of the off-site attractions, cover the Miami Valley and surrounding counties. All of the notable celebrities in the Pontiac hobby are confirmed to be with us and include former GM and Pontiac Motor Div. General Mgrs. Vice Presidents and CEO's. We have secured a large quantity of unique Pontiacs to be on display. Over 200 Pontiacs that are coming from all over the country will be racing for prize money at Kilkare and Auto-crossing in the oval track on Friday, July 10. This event be open to spectators from Wed, July 8 thru Saturday, July 11 to view the cars in the parking lots and in the Nutter Center Arena. All proceeds, after expenses, will go to charities as both clubs are not-for-profit organizations.
