The jury convicted him on two counts of each charge, all of which include firearm specifications that will add time to any prison sentence he gets from Judge Michael Krumholtz.
The charges stem from the June 2013 shooting of Anika Emmanuel, the manager of the Danbarry Dollar Saver Theater, 7650 Waynetowne Blvd., Huber Heights. She was in her Ford Explorer with a bank deposit bag when she said a gunman fired a shot that shattered her passenger side window. The slug punctured her abdomen.
Wounded, Emmanuel drove from the theater at 7650 Waynetowne Blvd. to the Huber Heights Police Division on Taylorsville Road about a mile away.
Cartwright turned himself in on July 3, 2013, after he found out authorities were looking for him in the investigation of the shooting. He had been in the county jail since that time.
