Kettering Residents To Voice Opinions On Income Tax

Kettering’s City Council voted Tuesday night to let the residents have their say on raising the city’s income tax.

The council needed to rush the process to meet a board of elections deadline.

City officials said the proposed half percent increase is needed to keep the city running effectively. They said high gas prices and other expenses have the city facing a $3 to $4 million deficit.

The city said it has been 25 years since it has raised income taxes.
