It is the first time state officials have recorded that such bees are in Georgia, Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin said in a news release.

A 73-year-old Georgia man was killed by Africanized “killer” honeybees, the Georgia Department of Agriculture said.
The attack, which happened last month, occurred after Curtis Davis hit a beehive while clearing brush with his tractor. He was stung more than 100 times.
