Lehman Catholic High School Inducts Three Into Hall Of Fame

The first-ever induction into the Alumni Hall of Fame at Lehman Catholic High School in Sidney happened Saturday night. Two graduates and a former coach and faculty member were among the first three to be honored.

Richard (Dick) Frantz, a 1945 graduate of Holy Angels High School in Sidney, was inducted. Among his accomplishments included his commitment to Catholic education, which is evident as all 13 of his children graduated from both Holy Angels High School and Lehman Catholic High School.

The second recipient was Charles Koon, a 1968 graduate of Piqua Catholic High School (which became the consolidation of Piqua Catholic and Holy Angels into Lehman High School in 1970). Koon was killed in Cambodia in May 1970 while serving in the Vietnam conflict with the U.S. Army.

The final person inducted was Coach Bob Heil for his service to the Lehman community. Heil was described as "a tough coach who would not accept mediocrity. He stood for respect, perseverance and discipline. He always believed that students were capable of bigger and better things."
