Library levy group sets meeting

SPRINGBORO — Area residents interested in volunteering for the campaign for a 1-mill levy to benefit the Franklin-Springboro Public Library are invited to attend a campaign strategy meeting tonight, Sept. 3, at 6:30.

The meeting will be held at office space at 50 Tahlequah Trail, off Central Avenue, next to Edwards Furniture.

The Franklin-Springboro Public Library will have a 1-mill levy for operating expenses on the Nov. 3 ballot.

Citizens in Franklin, Franklin Twp., Carlisle, Springboro and part of Clearcreek Twp. will be asked to vote because they reside in the library’s service district.

The five-year levy will generate $1.3 million a year for the library, and will cost homeowners $2.55 per month, for a $100,000 home.

“We need citizens to get the word out that the passage of this levy is necessary for library service to continue and improve in our communities,” said Jane Jones, library board member and committee volunteer.

“We have big and little jobs for interested volunteers, and many of these jobs can be done when they have the time to do them.”

Interested community members can attend the meeting, or call Suzanne Edwards at (937) 746-2150 or can e-mail supportourlibrary@gmail.com with additional questions or for more information.
