Local Tech college to close its doors

Lincoln College of Technology, located at 111 West First Street in Dayton, is closing its doors at the end of this year.

In an article first published in August of 2012, the West Orange, New Jersey based school announced it would be closing a number of its total 43 campus’s in Ohio and 17 other states.

The closing of the downtown Dayton campus is part of a larger realignment, says Scott Shaw, President and COO of Lincoln Educational Services Corporation, the parent company which owns Lincoln College.

A second reason was lower attendance numbers said Shaw.

A lay-off of 20 workers will result from the Dayton campus shutting its doors at the end of December, 2013.

Lincoln Educational Services was formed in 1946. It has 48 campuses in 17 states.
