An alleged threat of school violence posted on social media last Friday led to a Middletown High School student’s arrest off campus, said school officials.
The posting of an image on Snapchat of “a Middletown High School student allegedly threatening violence against Middletown High School” was reported by other students, Elizabeth Beadle, spokeswoman for the district, said Thursday.
“Thanks to the ‘See Something, Say Something’ initiative, our local law enforcement arrested the juvenile quickly,” she said.
“The student was never on the Middletown campus. Following the advice from our local law enforcement, we considered the threat over and school operated as normal that day,” said Beadle.
