Candidate night in Piqua on Wednesday

The YWCA will host a candidates forum Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the YWCA Piqua.

The forum will include a presentation on the city of Piqua’s proposed 0.25 percent income tax increase for police and fire services. It also will feature candidates for several offices. Candidates have been invited from the following races: Miami County commissioner, 8th District U.S. Congress, 5th District Ohio Senate; 80th District Ohio House of Representatives; state Supreme Court; and 2nd District Court of Appeals.

Written questions will be accepted from the audience. The forum will be broadcast live on WPTW 1570 and taped for broadcast on WOTVC (Channel 5). For more information, contact the YWCA at 418 N. Wayne St. or call (937) 773-6626.
