Local hospital gathering donations for Hurricane Irma relief

A Kettering Health Network hospital is collecting donations for Hurricane Irma relief.

Grandview Medical Center, along with the Grandview Foundation and Mary and Harold Rieck, are sending a 53-foot semi-trailer with supplies for Hurricane Irma disaster relief and seeking community donations to help fill the trailer.

Kettering Health Network is working with Adventist Community Services in Florida distribute the donations to where they are needed.

The donation drive is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 23, at Southview Medical Center. Southview, part of the Grandview Medical Center System, is at 1997 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in Washington Township.

Some of the disaster relief supplies needed include:

• Bottled water

• Baby food

• Baby formula

• Baby wipes

• Bandages

• Combs

• Deodorant

• Diapers – infant and adult (all sizes)

• Feminine hygiene products

• Gauze

• Hand sanitizer

• Medical supplies

• Mosquito protection

• Pet supplies and food

• Shampoo

• Soap

• Sponges

• Toilet paper

• Toothbrushes

• Toothpaste

• Underwear – children and adults (all sizes)

Please do not include:

• Clothing

• Furniture

• Canned goods
